Our Wish-List

Thanks for your interest in our wish-list!

We are accepting donations to fund our programs for the 2011-2012 school year. These funds will be used to support instructors and interns and to purchase equipment.

Donations are tax deductible and angel donors who give of $500 and up will be listed as such on our new website. Funds can be mailed direclty or submitted online. Or you can simply donate the items needed below.

  • 2 Small Refrigerators ($350 each) Donated.
  • 4 large bean bags chairs ($40 each) Purchased.
  • 4 Area rugs (that match our color scheme - see below) ($300 each) Purchased.
  • 16 Computer chairs with wheels Purchased.
  • 12 Computer desks (waiting for 4 more to arrive) Purchased.
  • 5 Folding Tables ($40 each)
  • Art supplies (for 60 students) - not sure of price
  • Various office supply items (varying prices)
  • LCD Projector (~$800) Donated!
  • 52+" LCD HDTV ($1,500-$2,000)
  • Comcast (TV, Phone, Internet for 20+ users) ($140 per month)
  • High Performance PCs (latest hardware specs) ($700 each)
    We are purchasing parts so we can custom build these machines.

Learning Technology Research

Uplift's Center for Learning and Educational Media publicly releases Myles and Ayesha as 'learning companions' to encourage learning and exploration of STEM, history, art, and reading. This comes with the release of the Myles & Ayesha Black Inventors Match Game iPhone App - the first in the Apple Store to teach a piece of Black History targeting children.

Innovations for Learning releases a handheld device called TeacherMate, used for reading instruction in urban first grade classrooms.
