FreeStyleNEXT™ is an after school program coming to Washington DC brought to you by Uplift, Inc. We focus on Art, Technology, and Literacy. Our foundation embraces the popular HIP-HOP concept of “free-styling” born in the 1970s/80s.

"Free-styling" involves improvising words and concepts while rapping as opposed to thinking of them beforehand. It is very similar to improvisational music playing, except what results are creative lyrics which rhyme and/or tell a story, as opposed to improv music.

FreeStyleNEXT™ is intended to take “free-styling” to the next level by teaching, encouraging, and using creativity in visual art, computer technology, and various forms of creative writing and multimedia to produce exceptional and tangible visual stories and masterpieces.
